On August 31, the celebration brought together many Ukrainians from all corners of Slovenia and their friends
The participants in the rally addressed those present with two main messages.
Yesterday, on the Day of Mourning declared in Ukraine for the 30 Kyiv residents killed by Russians during a massive nighttime attack on Kyiv on July 2, the Ukrainian community in Slovenia gathered outside the Slovenian Parliament building in Ljubljana.
Many of the exhibits are over a century old. They have survived the collapse of empires, two world wars, and the Soviet regime, and have survived to the present day as witnesses to human destinies and bearers of cultural memory.
We came out wearing embroidered shirts to show everyone our traditional clothing and our culture. We served treats, poured cherry liqueur, held a quiz about Ukraine, handed out informational materials, and collected donations.
On this day, we have united to remind the world that the struggle continues not only at the frontline, but also in the hearts of those who are waiting for their loved ones to return from captivity.
This means recognizing the company's activities and its contribution to the development of the Ukrainian community, support for Ukraine, and popularization of Ukrainian culture abroad.
The event was held in a warm, sincere atmosphere and was an opportunity to once again turn to Ukrainian words and culture.
